Andrew Clemens (January 29, 1857 – May 14, 1894) was a sand artist from Iowa in the United States. Clemens formed his pictures by compressing natural colored sands inside chemists jars to create his works of art.

Protection against curses: While many witch bottles contain urine, pins, and hair, others are filled with ingredients such as salt, herbs, shells, and sand to trap or repel negative spirits and curses.
European and American folk magic (Witch Bottles)
Beginning in the 16th century, people in England, Europe, and later America, created witch bottles as a form of counter-magic to protect against witchcraft or curses.
Spiritual purpose over preservation:Because of their sacred nature, the sandpaintings are ritually destroyed after the ceremony to prevent misuse of their power, so they are not collected and preserved in bottles
Healing through sand: After creating a detailed painting on the ground with colored sand, a patient sits on the sandpainting while the hatałii chants over
them. The holy beings (Diné haneʼ) are irresistibly attracted to the painted images and enter the sacred space to absorb the sickness and transfer their healing power to the patient.
In Navajo tradition, sand is a sacred material used in healing ceremonies performed by a medicine man or hatałii.

The Meneur de loups (“leader of wolves”) is a figure in French folklore, especially from central and eastern regions. He is often a man gifted or cursed with the power to command wolves, sometimes after making a pact with the Devil.
With a whistle, chant, or staff, he summons packs that obey his every order, leading them through forests or against enemies. In some tales, he protects flocks by diverting wolves; in others, he unleashes them to punish wrongdoers.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

One is Evil.
